Likely someone reading this has a password "Summer2021" or "Fall2021" or something along those lines. It’s a joke, but it is true. And as an IT provider, hearing this is scary.
It should scare you too.
If you own your business, or are one of the leaders, you should be terrified. It only takes one person to have a weak password like this for something truly bad to happen. Don't let that happen to you.
Most of you are using multi-factor authentication for email but what about all the other passwords your employees need to keep up with for websites and other tools to do their job? What happens to the passwords when they leave? Do you go in and change every single one of them?
Creating, remembering, and managing good passwords is hard. It is so hard, that the only way to do it right is to use a password manager, like LastPass. With LastPass, your users can randomly generate and maintain strong passwords. You can share access with others, and they cannot see or change a shared password. When someone leaves, you can deactivate their LP account, and feel safe that they do not have access to accounts within your business.
Implementing better password security is a simple may to make your business more secure. Having strong password security doesn't have to be complicated, there are things you can do to make your life easier and your password more secure.
